The Genesis Energy leadership team is committed to providing an integrated suite of transportation, storage and marketing services to oil and gas producers, refineries and other customers. Successfully executing this strategy will enable us to generate sustainable cash flow to allow us to make quarterly cash distributions to our unitholders and to increase those distributions over time.
We maintain a balanced and diversified portfolio of assets to service our customers while optimizing our existing assets. We regularly enhance services and offer new services to customers in our supply and logistics segment. At Genesis Energy, we are always expanding the geographic reach of our refinery services and supply and logistics segments. Our leadership focuses on broadening our asset base through strategic organic development projects, as well as acquisitions.
Grant E. Sims has served as Director and Chief Executive Officer since August 2006. Mr. Sims had been a private investor since 1999. He was affiliated with Leviathan Gas Pipeline Partners, L.P. from 1992 to 1999, serving as the Chief Executive Officer and a director beginning in 1993 until he left to pursue personal interests, including investments. Leviathan (subsequently known as El Paso Energy Partners, L.P. and then GulfTerra Energy Partners, L.P.) was a NYSE listed master limited partnership.
Robert V. Deere has served as Chief Financial Officer since October 2008. Mr. Deere served as Vice President, Accounting and Reporting at Royal Dutch Shell from 2003 to 2008, and in increasing positions of responsibility with Shell for the five years prior to that appointment.
Stephen M. Smith has served as Vice President of our general partnership since February 2010. Mr. Smith is responsible for the commercial aspects of our Supply and Logistics segment. Since 2009, Mr. Smith has served in various capacities within our commercial development and finance groups. He was a Principal for the energy investment banking group at Banc of America Securities from 2006 to 2009.
Richard R. Alexander has served as Vice President of our general partnership since November 2014. Mr. Alexander is responsible for the commercial aspects of our Marine Transportation segment. Since 2008, Mr. Alexander has served in various capacities within our marine operations.
William S. (Bill) Goloway has served as Vice President-Gulf of Mexico since August 2015 following Genesis’ acquisition of its Gulf of Mexico assets from Enterprise Products. Mr. Goloway is responsible for the commercial aspects of the offshore assets. Mr. Goloway has nearly 25 years of experience with the Gulf of Mexico in an array of capacities with various companies.
Garland Gaspard joined Genesis in August 2015 and serves as Vice President-Corporate Technical Services and Offshore Operations. Mr. Gaspard has over 42 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector involving operations and construction of assets associated with offshore crude oil/natural gas platforms and pipelines, onshore NGL and gas pipelines & underground gas storage, product storage tank farms, rail terminals and treating plants.
Michael H. Stark serves as Senior Director, Offshore Pipelines & Facilities and joined Genesis with the acquisition of the Offshore Business Unit from Enterprise in 2015. Mr. Stark is responsible for the Offshore Engineering and Construction Group, for new pipelines and facility installations, major system modifications, repairs, and pipeline decommissioning’s. Mr. Stark has over 42 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas construction and subsea industry.
Chad A. Landry has served as Vice President and General Manager of our Refinery Services division since October 2013. Mr. Landry has over 25 years in the chemical and energy businesses having served in various roles of increasing responsibility. Previously he spent 14 years at Axiall Corporation (Georgia Gulf) most recently as Vice President Chlor Alkali & Vinyls and 11 years at Texaco principally engaged in natural gas trading and pipeline logistics.
Michael A. Barber has served as Vice President of Trucking since March 2013. Mr. Barber previously spent 15 years in the chemical business where he served in various roles of increasing responsibility at BASF and GE Plastics.
Karen N. Pape has served as Senior Vice President since July 2007 and as Controller since March 2002. Ms. Pape served as Director of Finance and Administration of our general partner since December 1996.
Kristen O. Jesulaitis has served as General Counsel since July 2011. She is responsible for all legal functions of the Company, including acquisitions and commercial transactions, compliance and regulatory affairs, corporate governance, securities, and finance. Prior to joining Genesis, Ms. Jesulaitis was a Partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP principally engaged in the areas of corporate and securities law, with primary focus in the midstream energy sector.
Jeffrey W. Gifford has served as Vice President since March 2012. Mr. Gifford is responsible for health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) compliance. He has over 25 years of HSSE experience, both domestically and internationally, for energy firms such as ExxonMobil, Texaco, and Chevron.
